The Lewis County Conservation District works with landowners and/or operators to develop a plan for the property to include recommendations for waste utilization, forage production, mud management, and more.
Cost share may also be available through the District. Cost share is on an as funds are available and then ranking the projects to be funded as funds alow. Previous examples of cost shared items include stream fences, manure spreaders, drystacks (for composting and manure storage), gutters and downspouts,and animal waste systems to name a few.
EQIP applications are being accepted by NRCS on a continuous basis and projects are ranked annually.
